Now That I've Officially Quit Facebook ...

I hope to post here, again, more regularly. At least when I post on my own blog, I don't have to worry about insulting anyone. Nor do I have to worry about all my private information, preferences, tastes, political views and what have landing in the hands of Mark Zuckerberg and to whomever he chooses to sell said information for the highest price.

I also discovered that one's FB comments can be found on Google. EVEN IF your profile has the most comprehensive privacy settings.

Free at last.

  1. I'm insulted by your not worrying about insulting anyone. Wait, no I'm not, I'm just spying for intelligence to sell, so please, insult away.

  4. Congratulations on that. Last year, when she was 13, my daughter quit Facebook on her own. It wasn't anything dramatic and she did it without discussion or ceremony. When we spoke about her reasons, I was impressed with her common sense and foresight. As far as insulting people on FB goes, I fully understand both sides of it -- insulting others and feeling insulted. It seems inevitable that both of those will happen in ways that occur far more rarely in real life. Wow. Love the profile photo. And the Wild Tchopitoulas. Curtis

  5. Thank you, Curtis. I hope to avoid overt politics here, like you do on your blog. You actually inspired me to get back to blogging (which I did for many years on and off). Unfortunately I've deleted years of posts. But I tend to do that. No one would say that rational behavior is my strong suit. ;-)

  6. I wondered where you'd disappeared to, but since I can now come here and find you (and your great links, I hope), I can quit worrying.
